ETWP; 90-day Finding and Commencement of Status Review for a Petition To List the Lower Kootenai River Burbot as threatened or Endangered

We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, announce a 90-day finding on a petition to list lower Kootenai River burbot (Lota lota) as an endangered or threatened species pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended. We find that the petition presents substantial scientific or commercial information indicating that listing the lower Kootenai River burbot may be warranted. We are initiating a status review to determine if listing this population is warranted.
