A young girl and her mother laugh as they enjoy fishing on a boat in the middle of a lake in the summer.

Saltwater fishing is permitted year-round in the estuarine waters adjacent to the refuge. All beach, marsh, and upland areas are closed to the public. Available saltwater species include bluefish, spotted seatrout, flounder, red drum, striped bass, tarpon, croaker, saltwater catfish and shark. A Georgia fishing license and a Saltwater Information Program (SIP) permit are required.
