Swan River National Wildlife Refuge

Law Enforcement

Our officers work closely with state and local government offices to enforce federal and state hunting regulations that protect wildlife from illegal take and preserve legitimate hunting opportunities. Officers also play a role in the successful management of the Refuge and help maintain high quality visitor experiences.

For any immediate criminal activity or emergency on U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service land, please contact your local authority for that area or dial 911. To report a violation, or if you have questions about Law Enforcement on the Refuge, please contact Mike Koole at 406-214-6415. Wildlife crimes may also be reported to the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks TIP MONT hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668).
