Hunting for migratory game birds (waterfowl) is only permitted on Plum Tree Island NWR from three designated stationary blinds located on the 211-acre Cow Island unit. Harvestable species include duck, coot, merganser, brant, dark goose, and light goose.  State waterfowl hunting regulations apply.

The authorized hunt season at the wildlife refuge is slightly limited and includes the second and third segments of the State season: Nov. 15, 2023 - Nov. 26, 2023 (excluding Sundays) and December 19-January 30 (excluding Sundays).  Please note: No refuge hunting is allowed during the September Teal season or the early October season.

Scouting at Plum Tree Island NWR via land access is not authorized. Prospective hunt participants can fully view the three designated stationary waterfowl hunt blinds from the State-managed waters.
