The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge offers picnicking opportunities for our visitors and the onsite concession (Okefenokee Adventures) at the Main Entrance (Suwannee Canal Recreation Area) also provides a wonderful food service to our visitors!

The refuge's picnic area includes many dispersed picnic tables to enjoy, located immediately adjacent to the Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center and the onsite concession, Okefenokee Adventures. Additionally, the refuge has a large picnic pavilion with seating for approximately 20-30 people comfortably. The pavilion is available to rent via reservation for $35/day - if you are interested in more information about the rental of the pavilion, please call the Richard S. Bolt Visitor Center at 912-496-7836. If the pavilion is not reserved, it is available on a first come/first serve basis.

If you are planning to boat or paddle for the day on the refuge's water trails, bring a sack lunch and a cooler and plan to picnic on one of the refuge's day-use shelters like Minnies Lake or Coffee Bay! But be sure that anytime you are paddling in the swamp that you "pack it in; pack it out" so litter does not become an issue.
