Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Refuge is in Arizona State Hunt Unit 30A. The refuge’s open area is approximately 810 acres; it includes all refuge lands north of Leslie Canyon Road. This area is open to multiple public uses, including hunting. The public is able to access the refuge’s open area every day of the week during daylight hours only (sunrise to sunset). The public can also participate in hiking, wildlife photography, wildlife observation, environmental education, bicycling and horseback riding. Camping, fires, target shooting, trapping, baiting, pneumatic weapons, hunting dogs and off-road vehicular traffic are not permitted. Hunting will be open for: migratory game bird hunts (mourning dove, white-winged dove and Eurasian collared-dove); upland game hunts (badger, bobcat, coati, coyote, gray fox, desert cottontail, black-tailed jackrabbit, Gambel’s quail, scaled quail, raccoon, ring-tailed cat, striped skunk, hooded skunk, western spotted skunk and American hog-nosed skunk); and big-game hunts (black bear, javelina, mule deer and white-tailed deer).
