Fisherman Island National Wildlife Refuge

Our annual hunt program is one tool used to manage wildlife populations at a level compatible with the habitat. It also provides for wildlife-oriented recreational opportunities. Migratory game bird hunting is offered from September to February, following State of Virginia seasons for each species during this time.
