Biking
Biking is a good way to see wildlife, learn about habitats and photograph nature. At Desert NWR, biking is allowed on both the paved and unpaved roads. Riding off-road and on trails is prohibited. E-bikes are permitted on any refuge roads where traditional bicycle use is allowed, if it is consistent with a refuge’s statutory purpose and the refuge manager determines it to be a compatible use. Extra caution is advised when riding on refuge roads since most are unpaved. Please pack spare parts and wear all appropriate safety equipment, including a helmet and high-visibility clothing.
