The 20th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP20) will take place in 2025. The meetings are the world’s largest and most influential meetings on international wildlife trade, where the Parties review, discuss, and negotiate changes in the implementation of CITES, including amendments to the CITES Appendices

The Endangered Species Act designates the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as the CITES Management Authority and Scientific Authority for the United States. The Service recognizes the public’s interest in and varying viewpoints on wildlife trade and conservation, and solicits input on potential species proposals to amend the CITES Appendices and proposed resolutions, decisions, and agenda items the United States will consider submitting for consideration to the CoP.
