Invasive Plants Task Force Volunteer Meet-up Session 2

Get your hands dirty removing invasive species invasive species
An invasive species is any plant or animal that has spread or been introduced into a new area where they are, or could, cause harm to the environment, economy, or human, animal, or plant health. Their unwelcome presence can destroy ecosystems and cost millions of dollars.

from Parker River National Wildlife Refuge! Learn plant ID and manual management techniques, while helping to cut and pull invasive woody plants! We will be removing oriental bittersweet and Japanese honeysuckle surrounding Parker River NWR Headquarters. Whether you have experience or are looking to learn something new, this meet-up is for you! Ages 14+ are welcome. Wear sturdy shoes and gloves. Bring bypass loppers if you have.

Please arrive at the Visitor Center 15 minutes before your desired session.

Volunteer meet-up is in collaboration with Mary-Ellen Dixon, Invasive Woody plant specialist and Molly Janicki, local Horticultural Specialist.
