31 days of nearby nature activities - from live and in-person to downloadable and buildable!

The Willamette Valley National Wildlife Refuge Complex and 30 partners work together every year to bring Winter Wildlife Field Days to communities in the mid-Willamette Valley. Join us at any of  the free Field Stations that will pop-up in local parks and gathering spaces throughout March.  Drop by anytime and stay for as little or as long as you like!

At the Field Stations there will be activities such as:

  • Owl pellet dissection
  • Rough-skinned newt obstacle course
  • Nature and bird walks
  • Pond study and dragonfly research activities
  • Live bird presentations
  • Water & wildlife hands-on activities
  • A science experiment that finds wildlife eDNA on trees and in water!

In addition to onsite Field Station activities, we have take home materials such as a nature explorer guidebook, stickers and activity kits. Activities will be available online, too. This is a bilingual event with everything offered in Spanish as well. We have worked hard to make this event as accessible and inclusive as possible.  We hope to see you soon!  Visit www.winterwildlifefielddays.org for more information!
