Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge Turkey Hunt Plan

Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge’s Turkey Hunting Plan has been finalized. We will open 1,883 acres of the Refuge to turkey hunting in Fall 2023. Thank you to those who provided comments on the Draft Plan. In response to comments we have provided information on access to turkey hunting for hunters with disabilities in the Final Plan.

Starting in 2023, the turkey hunt will occur four days per week during the State’s fall season (September 1-December 31).  We will require the use of non-toxic shot for turkey hunting. Turkey hunting will be by advance reservation only. WDFW will manage reservations under their Hunting By Reservation Only program. Up to two hunting parties of up to four hunters per party will be allowed to hunt per two-day hunt period.

The final Turkey Hunting Plan, Environmental Assessment, Response to Comments, and Compatibility Determination is available at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge Turkey Hunting Plan
