NEW MEXICO RECEIVES GRANT TO ASSIST RARE GRASSLAND BIRDS AND OTHER WILDLIFE

New Mexico will receive a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to work with private landowners in eastern New Mexico on habitat improvements for the lesser prairie chicken and other at-risk wildlife, announced Interior Secretary Gale Norton. A total of $25.8 million in grants will be awarded nationwide by the department.

The grants, part of the administration
