Restrictions in Place Around Mexican Gray Wolf Den Sites in Arizona
The Mexican Gray Wolf Interagency Recovery Team has placed restriction notices around three den sites on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in Arizona. Localization of pack activities has indicated the presence of pups.
Forest trail heads and access roads in the vicinity of den sites are signed. In addition, the one-mile boundary surrounding the actual denning area bears highly visible signs. The special restrictions are in place within the one mile boundary. They include no motorized travel off of designated roads, camping, or hiking off trails. Dogs must be leashed at all times.
