The lower parking lot has 22 standard parking spaces and no dedicated accessible spaces. This lot is typically used for overflow parking and is not directly connected to a trailhead.
The driveway to the upper parking lot has 16 standard parking spots and no designated accessible spots. The gate is open from dawn to dusk. If you are trying to exit the refuge at dusk and the gate is closed, approach it slowly and it will automatically open.
You will pass what appears to be a fee booth on your way to the upper parking lot. You can pass by this as access to the refuge is completely free. Note that pets are not permitted on the refuge.
The upper parking lot is a loop with 65 standard vehicle spots and five designated accessible spots. The trailhead and Visitor Center are connected to this lot. Note that there is bicycle parking. Bikes are not permitted on the trails.
You can visit by bus using TriMet route 94, stop ID 12743. You are dropped off in front of the refuge from the southbound lane of Highway 99. To head North, use this bus stop and head South into Sherwood, where the bus turns around and heads North.
