A smartphone snapping a photo of a bright yellow flower in a grassy field

Whether you wield a smartphone or a zoom lens, you’ll find photo-worthy subjects. The refuge abounds with opportunities, especially along the Wildlife Drive. Wildflowers bloom from late spring through fall; cranes, swans and eagles are abundant; secretive mammals can be spotted occasionally. The Sherburne Photography Club is open to the public; they meet monthly and share photos on social media.

Personal and commercial still photography is allowed and does not require a special use permit. Interested in commercial photography? Reference the refuge's rules and policies for additional details.
