The shallow waters of Breton Sound provide exciting opportunities for anglers. Wade fishing, surf casting or drift fishing can yield seatrout, redfish, flounder, cobia, bluefish, mackerel and even tarpon at certain times of the year. Recreational fishing and crabbing are allowed year-round in accordance with Louisiana state fishing regulations.

Access is by boat only across open waters of Breton Sound. Boats should be of sufficient size to operate in unprotected waters, and weather conditions should be monitored closely.
