K-1 Teacher Led Trail Hike Guide is developed to engage K-1 students in nature.  

It is designed to meet State of Maine Academic Content Standards but can be easily adapted to other regions as well.

Activities include:

Observing and documenting living and nonliving parts of nature on an immersive trail hike

Designing and illustrating habitats and adaptions of an imaginary animal

Choosing behaviors at home to keep the planet healthy

Connecting to responsible recreation by drawing Rachel Carson's dog Candy and reading ways to engage in nature with pets responsibly
