This gopher frog is sitting on an artificial lily pad in a tank at Edenton National Fish Hatchery. It is waiting to be released in the Croatan National Forest as part of a head start program. NC Wildlife Resources Commission, North Carolina State University's Center for Marine Sciences and Technology, and the US Forest Service are working together to boost numbers of this frog, now considered endangered by the state of North Carolina.
