Latino Conservation Week Event - Fishing & More at Patuxent Research Refuge (Laurel, MD)

Youth aged 5 - 15 are invited to come with their families to fish at Patuxent Research Refuge on July 16th. Instructions and equipment for youth are provided. A license for youth is not required. These free fishing activities are a part of other events happening at Patuxent on July 16th in celebration of Latino Conservation Week. Events will take place starting at 9am - 2pm. In addition to fishing, we will have live bird programs, kids' crafts, monarch butterfly releases, a display of the 2022 Junior Duck Stamp Contest Entries and trails to explore. The fishing activities are the only activities taking place on July 16th at Patuxent that require pre registration. There will be two time slots for fishing, 9am -10:30am & 10:30am - 12pm and a total of 15 families will be able to participate during each time slot. At the end of the event, HAF intern Clara Hernandez will present a power-point presentation on Hispanic Access Foundation's Mano Project and her experiences as an intern at The Patuxent Research Refuge.
