Flycatchers of San Luis NWR Complex

Naturalist Steve Johnston will highlight a group of birds known as "flycatchers" found on our refuges during winter, summer, or year-round. Steve has records of 9 members of the flycatcher family on the various units of San Luis NWR Complex. In this presentation we will look at all nine. Since 8 of them are migratory, Steve will talk about when they arrive and leave and where they go when they are not here. We will also look at typical flycatcher behaviors that you can look for when you see them. Steve will share his experiences observing and identifying these birds through story and photos. Meet at the San Luis NWR visitor center multipurpose room at 9:00am.
