family-oriented — offering something for all ages — including; activities, vendors, hands-on educational demonstrations, Missouri-made food products & crafts, food and products representing
Missouri family agriculture. All celebrating the natural world!
Big Muddy National Fish & Wildlife Refuge organized a booth representing U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. On display were various turtles from the Refuge (returned home afterward!), pollinator boxes, and an interactive sandbox exhibit for children. Staff promoted the nearby Jameson Island unit of the Refuge and distributed many giveaway items, such as native wildflower seed packets, posters, educational brochures and customized Earth Day and pollinator-themed buttons. 750 people estimated to have attended the event.
