Join us for Birding on the Refuge, a guided birdwatching experience through the diverse habitats of Aransas National Wildlife Refuge—home to over 400 species of birds, including the iconic whooping crane (seasonally).
Meet at the Visitor Center at 9:00 a.m. and be prepared to drive your own vehicle up to 15 miles. This program will include short walks on refuge trails, please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
Whether you're a seasoned birder or just getting started, this program offers a great opportunity to explore the refuge’s trails, sharpen your bird ID skills, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. Bring your binoculars, a field guide if you have one, and your curiosity! Don't have any binoculars or bird field guides? No worries! We will loan those out to you for FREE at the visitor center—just ask when you arrive!
