Beginner Hiking Series @ Old Cedar Avenue

With Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge covering over 14,000 acres, there are more than 45 miles of trails to discover! Join us on our beginner hiker series as we explore the trails together. No prior experience needed and no special equipment required.

Date and Time: Saturday, November 18th from 1 - 2:30 p.m.

Location: Old Cedar Avenue Trailhead, 9551 Old Cedar Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55425

Registration Information: 10 walk in spots available and 15 spots open for voluntary registration through SignUp

Activity Level: Medium-active, we will walk at a good walking pace and make some stops.

Meet Us: Meet us at the kiosk at the Old Cedar Avenue pavilion.

What to Bring: Good walking shoes, water, and bug spray/sunscreen if you have it. Monitor weather forecast and be prepared for the temperature and precipitation. A cancellation notice will be sent via email to registered participants in the event of severe weather. please monitor our website, MeetUp and Facebook pages for a cancellation notice. 

Accessibility: This walk takes place on natural surface path, which may include avoiding occasional low-hanging branches, walking over small plant debris and possible mud. We will walk about 1-2 miles. A portable restroom is available at this location.

Program Leader: This program is led by refuge staff.
