2024 Winter Film Festival - Defending the Dark

Discover the winger of nature. Learn something new! Cure your cabin fever! Join us for three fun, family-friendly, free nature films at the Pines Performance Center at the Erickson Center for the Arts. On Thursday, March 14 we will be showing Defending the Dark: Preserving the Night Sky. Defending the Dark tells the story of protecting the dark sky areas of Maine - the last such areas in the U.S. east of the Rocky Mountains, and what we can do in our own backyards to bring back the night sky. The film is 35 minutes followed by a question and answer session by Jennifer Wycoff, Park Ranger. This program is brought to you by the Friends of Seney National Wildlife Refuge, the Erickson Center for the Arts, and Seney National Wildlife Refuge. Thursday, March 21 we will be showing Rhythms of the Refuge. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 6:30 p.m.
