We at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invite public review and comment on a Compatibility Determination (CD) for non-commercial plant gathering at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in San Antonio, NM.If approved, this CD would allow for limited non-commercial plant gathering and collection for ceremonial, religious, medicinal, educational, and traditional uses. This use would be administered through a Special Use Permit.
A compatibility determination describes the circumstances under which a refuge use or activity would be allowed. When a compatibility determination is accepted, it means a proposed or existing wildlife-dependent recreational use has been found appropriate for the site and is consistent with the missions of the refuge, the National Wildlife Refuge System, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
