Spring Interpretive Programs and Events at Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge

Pocosin Lakes NWR is excited to announce regular weekly educational programs to share the refuge's fascinating wildlife with visitors. Come to the Red Wolf Center to learn about these endangered wolves and visit a pair of live wolves. Or, see nature in a new way through special programs with Pocosin Arts and the Tyrrell County Library. The refuge is able to offer these programs thanks to our partnerships with the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, Tyrrell County Library, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft, and others.

Program Schedule

Red Wolf Program

Join Katerina Ramos, Red Wolf Education and Outreach Coordinator from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, in learning about the history and biology of red wolves. Programs include a talk about the red wolves and the ability to visit the live red wolves at the red wolf center. Programs are only offered at the times listed on the schedule. There is no guarantee that you will be able to see the live red wolves as they are a shy and elusive species.
