U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Wolf Call Line Operational
Idaho Residents Now Able to Utilize Toll-Free Line
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Idaho Fish and Wildlife Office announced this afternoon that the toll-free number established for calls related to endangered gray wolf management within the state is operational.
Idaho residents may phone the 24-hour, toll-free line at 877-661-1908 to report wolf mortality, sightings on private and public property, and to ask questions about wolf management as the transition from state to federal management of gray wolves continues.
Calls to report wolf depredation incidents on livestock or pets should continue to be directed to U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Services at 866-487-3297 or 208-378-5077.
"We appreciate citizen interest in the transition from state to federal wolf management in Idaho. Idaho residents have phoned our temporary wolf line, and we thank them for their patience. We expect the toll-free line to be used in the same way to assist the public with their needs," said Gary Burton, Deputy Idaho State Supervisor.
