MEDIA AVAILABILITY: FIRST REHABILITATED WILDLIFE TO BE RELEASED TODAY
Two rehabilitated soft-shell turtles will be released today into their new home at Binder Park Zoo. The turtles were recovered by wildlife crews as part of the Kalamazoo River/Enbridge oil spill response and stabilized at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Marshall, Mich.
Media have the opportunity to view the release of the turtles and talk to wildlife operations representatives.

LOCATION: Binder Park Zoo (Meet at administrative offices)
DIRECTIONS: Binder Park Zoo is located 3 miles south of I-94 exit 100
To date 91 animals, including 30 turtles and a variety of birds and mammals have been recovered by wildlife crews and brought to the wildlife rehabilitation center to be stabilized and cleaned. Biologists will monitor the turtles to be released today to help provide additional information about the long-term impacts of oil on wildlife.
