The eagle was shot sometime between December 25 and

The eagle has been transported to the Bramble Park Zoo in Watertown, South Dakota, where it is being treated for its injuries.

Golden Eagles are protected by both federal and state law. Golden eagles are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
