Mexican Gray Wolf Found Dead Along Highway

On December 18, a Mexican grey wolf was found dead north of Highway 12 near Apache Creek, New Mexico. A member of the Francisco Pack, the male yearling (wolf #590) had been released into the wild on July 15, 2000. He was born on May 1, 1999 at Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
