About Zachary Jackson

Zac Jackson is the Project Coordinator for the USFWS Arizona Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office (AZFWCO) in Whiteriver, Arizona. He has worked for USFWS since 2007, first in California working on Chinook Salmon habitat restoration and White Sturgeon research and monitoring designed to inform habitat restoration and population management decisions. Zac has worked for AZFWCO since 2017 and focuses his time working with tribes in Arizona on native fish conservation and sportfish management projects.

Before coming to work for USFWS, Zac worked for North Dakota Game and Fish Department as a seasonal fisheries aid during the summers while pursuing B.S. degrees in Zoology–Fish and Wildlife Management and Natural Resources Management from North Dakota State University (GO BIZON!). After graduating, he worked for Iowa Department of Natural Resources as a natural resources aid before pursuing his M.S. degree in Fisheries Biology at Iowa State University (go Cyclones!) His thesis focused on assessment of the interrelationships between fish population dynamics and limnological characteristics of Iowa lakes. Zac has coauthored 16 peer-reviewed journal publications and a book chapter (with six publications in review or significantly developed).
