To help protect wildlife and their habitats and to ensure your safety, please familiarize yourself with the information and regulations specific to this Refuge prior to your visit. Visitors may request a printed copy of the Refuge brochure with a map of the area by stopping in the visitor center during regular hours or calling the Refuge to have one mailed.

After the ducks, geese, and other migratory birds have said their farewells to Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge for the winter, anglers can enjoy a great time on the (frozen) water even during the coldest months of the year. Ice fishing can be a fun activity for the whole family. 

We invite you to observe wildlife from May 1 through September 30 on the portion of the Refuge located east of County Road 12. The Refuge is closed to this activity at all other times to provide a sanctuary for wildlife.
