Nature photography has quickly become one of the most popular activities at the refuge. No matter if you're using a smartphone or a camera with a long lens, you’ll find countless stunning photo opportunities—sometimes it’s simply about being in the right spot at the perfect moment. The wildlife drive is a great place to start. From trumpeter swans to tiny insects there is something for all levels of photographers.
Be sure to know what areas of the refuge are open. Give wildlife space - avoid feeding or approaching wildlife, and if wildlife approaches you, back up and leave the immediate area. We’re just having fun, but this is where they eat, rest, and raise their young. Watch your step - sometimes walking off trail to get the perfect shot, could mean trampling fragile plants.
Drones are not allow on the refuge.
