Tamarac Wetland Management District is made up of private land partnerships and conservation easements so there are currently no opportunities for visitors.

The district office is located at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge in Rochert, Minnesota. If you have land within Tamarac’s district of Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, Hubbard or Koochiching counties in Minnesota and want to provide a place for wildlife, contact our Private Lands Biologist about the Partners for Fish and Wildlife program at 218-847-2641.

Driving Directions

Tamarac Wetland Management District office is located at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge headquarters which is 18 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota or 25 miles west of Park Rapids, Minnesota. From Detroit Lakes, head east on State Highway 34 to the intersection of County Highway 29. Take County Highway 29 nine miles north (left) to the visitor center. From Park Rapids, head west on State Highway 34 and take County Highway 29 north (right) nine miles to the refuge headquarters and visitor center.

Fees

There is currently no public access to the Tamarac Wetland Management District lands, so there are no fees.
