Orphaned Wildlife

Do NOT drop off orphaned or injured wildlife at any National Wildlife Refuge. You'll need to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. These individuals are trained to care for sick, injured, or in some cases, orphaned wildlife. Many rehabilitators specialize in caring for certain types of wildlife. The Texas Parks and Wildlife  website maintains a list of rehabilitators by county. If your county does not have a listed rehabilitator, please review the neighboring counties as well. Many licensed rehabilitators accept wildlife from a broader region.

The closest wildlife rehabilitator is in Cameron County.
