Laws and Regulations
Pets are allowed on the refuge; however, they must be either kept on a leash or in the interior cab of the vehicle. Other domesticated animals, such as cattle, are not allowed to enter or roam within the boundaries of the refuge.
Possession of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances is prohibited.
Taking of wildlife, plants (including cutting trees or brush), is prohibited. In addition, disturbing, injuring, spearing, poisoning, destroying, or collecting any plant or animal is prohibited.
Marking trails with paint or leaving flagging tape, ribbons, or trail tacks is prohibited.
Dumping household furniture, appliances, trash or brush is prohibited.
Camping and fires are prohibited on the refuge. The nearest campground is located at Okmulgee and Dripping Springs Park, west of Okmulgee along Highway 56.
Target practice and the running of dogs for training purposes is prohibited.
Taking of cultural resources, including arrowheads, is prohibited.
All-terrain vehicles are prohibited, unless you have a Refuge Special Use Permit.
