Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter

Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter (MRVAC) provides leadership in promoting environmental awareness, education and advocacy action, especially relating to the wildlife and habitats of the Minnesota River Valley. The chapter was first organized in 1967 and played a large role in the establishment of the wildlife refuge and continues to be a partner of the refuge today. MRVAC engages residents through birdwatching treks across refuge units and a monthly speaker series with topics involving birding, nature, or conservation. Additionally, MRVAC has long been a supporter of the refuge’s environmental education efforts. One of their main objectives is to teach about the importance of getting outdoors, experiencing nature, and caring for wildlife and the environment.
