Laysan Finch (Telespyza cantans), is a member of the Hawaiian Honeycreeper family, and is rather common on its namesake island. The species is not likely to be confused with any other bird on Laysan Island, because no other songbird is yellow-headed and gray-backed with a heavy, hooked bill. He has a complex, canary-like warbling song - very distinctive. Image taken from USFWS Pacific Region Flickr page.
