2026-2027 Application for Competitive Events at Back Bay NWR

Running, bicycling and bird cup events are permitted at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, per the Compatibility Determination for competitive events. Two competitive running and two competitive bicycling events are permitted during the months of November - March annually. Up to four birding cups may be permitted annually. Applications received by August 1, 2026  will receive priority consideration for the 2026 - 2027 season. Applicants must download and complete this Application before submitting to backbaynwr@fws.gov.
