Orangeburg NFH produces Santee-Cooper strain Atlantic striped bass and Santee-Cooper strain American shad. Redbreast sunfish, bluegill sunfish, and channel catfish are produced and distributed locally. Lake sturgeon are produced for the Tennessee River basin. Gopher frogs are produced for the Savannah River Site. The Carolina heelsplitter is an endangered species that is being cultured and distributed in South Carolina.
