An autumn view of a paved trail at an intersection with a bench and a small sign on a post. Fallen leaves are on the ground, and bushes have lost their leaves.

The Icicle Creek Nature Trail is open to visitors spring through fall. The one mile paved loop trail features frequent benches for resting and bird watching, interesting interpretive signs about nature and the local wildlife, and access a picnic shelter on the banks of Icicle Creek. The trail crosses a gravel road in one spot, and at certain times of the year might be covered in pine needle or leaf debris, but it is generally a good trail for walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, and visitors who don't want to walk very far to take in the lovely scenery and nature along Icicle Creek. A trail map can be found on the back of the Self-Guided Tour Brochure.

Many other trails on the hatchery grounds are accessible to wheelchairs. From the entrance off East Leavenworth Road, a well-packed crushed-gravel trail passes by two ponds and branches toward the boat launch and the accessible fishing platform. Across the bridge from the main hatchery production area, there are paved roads (used only by hatchery vehicles) that are used as trails by horseback riders, bicyclists, and others. Check our Trails page to view a map of the site.
