Ways to Get Involved

The hatchery offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to help us care for the fish and maintain the facility, including providing formalized work-training credit for high school and college students enrolled in the biological sciences or natural resources programs. Learn about youth employment and internships with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Additionally, the hatchery is looking to establish a Friends Group with the primary objective of developing sponsored youth programs that focus on angling and outdoor recreation.

If you, or your group, is interested in learning more about opportunities to volunteer at the hatchery or establishing a Friends Group, please contact the hatchery manager, Shane Hanlon, at shane_hanlon@fws.gov or (802) 483-6618.
