Join staff and volunteers of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Partners for Clean Streams for the first of our monthly Beach Cleanups! The event will take place on Saturday, March 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Turtle Creek Fishing Access and Toussaint Wildlife Area! We will meet at the Turtle Creek Fishing Access located East of the refuge along Route 2 (GPS location name: “Turtle Creek Access East Marsh”). We will pick up any trash we encounter around the fishing access, then caravan over to Toussaint Wildlife Area along OH-19 (GPS location name: “Toussaint Area”) and do the same. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water. Supplies such as gloves, bags, and trash pickers will be provided. Call (419) 898-0014 for more information and to register.
This event is part of our recurring monthly cleanups, usually scheduled on the second Saturday of every month. Keep an eye out for future volunteer events to help us keep plastic waste and other litter off of our beaches and out of our waterways and local communities!
