Get a behind the scenes look at Refuge's incredible salt marshes on a tour guided by Refuge staff. We will meet at the Visitor Center for a presentation about salt marsh salt marsh
Salt marshes are found in tidal areas near the coast, where freshwater mixes with saltwater.
Learn more about salt marsh ecology, history, and restoration, and then head out to the Refuge for a walking tour through areas of ongoing restoration.
Note: This will include a 1-mile tour over uneven terrain. Please bring rubber boots (such as muck boots or rainboots), a water bottle, and dress for the weather. We are happy to provide boots if you need- please email ahead of time if you would like to borrow a pair. We will meet inside at the Visitor's Center first, and then drive to the Refuge from there. This program is a great opportunity for interested volunteers to learn more about the salt marsh!
