Join us for a lecture and discussion all about SNAKES! If you've ever seen a snake and wondered about it, this is a great chance to learn more. This event is FREE, and all are welcome! No live snakes will be present
Join us for a night of snake education centered on the native snakes of southeast Michigan, featuring an in-depth look at the Eastern Massasauga rattlesnake and Eastern fox snake. Discover how active field research on snake fungal disease (SFD) are helping scientists better understand these species and how that knowledge supports safer coexistence with the snakes that share our landscape.
Megan Horodko will be presenting and is a graduate research assistant at the University of Michigan–Flint, studying snake fungal disease (Ophidiomyces ophidiicola) in Michigan’s threatened Eastern fox snake and Eastern Massasauga rattlesnake.
