5 PM - 7 PM
The Patuxent Research Refuge Film and Speaker Series brings the research and conservation of the refuge to you. Each date will have a film and a speaker with some connection to the practices or research done on the refuge to answer questions.
Each event is a different theme with different speakers and films, making no two events the same.
On April 4th we will be showing: “My Garden of a Thousand Bees.” Explore just how special all the different kinds of bees are, even found in one backyard. Special guest Sam Droege, Wildlife Biologist, USGS Bee Lab at the Eastern Ecological Science Center, will lead the Q&A. Droege is a scientist, naturalist and apiologist (bee expert) who serves and protects even the smallest of our insect friends.
Prior to each film screening, join Chesapeake Bay Trust Corps Member William O'Boyle for a unique wildlife exhibit tour: meet in our main lobby. The NWVC will remain open past its normal operating hours, and Friends of Patuxent’s Wildlife ImagesBookstore & Nature Shop will extend its hours until 5 pm for these events. (Profits from the Friends’ shop support the mission and work of Patuxent Research Refuge and the Eastern Ecological Science Center).
