Nature Novice: Snowshoes

New to winter recreation? Learn how to snowshoe during our introductory program where refuge staff will teach participants how to properly wear and utilize snowshoes. Participants will gain experience by practicing walking forward, turning around, and learning how to go up and down hills. Snowshoes will be provided. Registration required.

Date and Time: Saturday, February 22nd from 1:00-2:00pm

Location: Louisville Swamp - W 145 St. 3801 W 145th St, Shakopee, MN 55379

Meet Us: Meet at Louisville Swamp trailhead kiosk.

What to Bring: Good walking boots. Monitor weather forecast and be prepared for the temperature and precipitation. A cancellation notice will be sent via email to registered participants in the event of severe weather.

Accessibility: Vault toilet Restrooms available at the trailhead. Drinking water will not be available. The trails are not plowed, so be prepared to walk in snow if it is present. There is a parking lot.

Program Leader: This program is led by refuge staff.
