Moth Night

Go mothing with Invasive Species Manager, Trevor Zook, in the South Woods, located behind the visitor center, on Friday, September 15th starting at 8:15 p.m. This will be an exciting moth night, as Trevor has never done a moth night in this location before.

You may be wondering, what is mothing exactly? Mothing is when you hang a sheet, usually white or light colored, outside on a dry, windless night and shine lights on the sheet to attract nocturnal moths and other cool bugs. They land on the sheet, which gives you an up close look at their intricate patterns and unique shapes and colors!

Registration is required for this program. Call 419-898-0014 to register starting August 26th.

P.S. There will be a guided twilight walk prior to mothing that you can also join. This will be a 1.0 mile hike through the South Woods from 7-8 p.m. to listen and look for owls, bats, frogs, and more! Registration is not required for the twilight walk.
