Migration Celebration Kick-off Day

Join us for a day full of fun activities, tours, food, and art as we kick-off our month-long celebration of the fall migration of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and more! Registration is required for some programs. Call 419-898-0014 to register for programs starting August 26th. 

  • Wildlife Drive: A self-guided drive through the refuge - 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (migrate up to 7 miles) 

  • Bike the Dike: A family friendly ride starting from the trailhead parking lot, along the pool 1 trail, and back - 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (migrate 3 miles). Registration required. 

  • Yoga at the Ranger Station: A guided yoga session in our outdoor classroom surrounded by nature - 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration required. 

  • Kids’ Hike and Craft: A short guided hike for kids along our boardwalk to learn about butterflies and their life cycles, followed by a butterfly craft - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (migrate ⅔ mile) 

  • Shuttle Tours: A guided 45-minute shuttle tour along our hiking trails - 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. (migrate 2.5 miles) Registration required. 

  • Tram Tour: A guided 1.5 hour tram tour along our trails - 2:00 p.m. (migrate 4 miles)
